Isabelle graduated kindergarten this June. She had a little preformance and got her certificate. She had her last day of school and summer began. She is my favorite to take pictures of because she loves the camera and poses for me! She is getting big. Reading and singing and dances around the house. She is not here to give her two cents. She is staying the night with Grammy.

Isabelle had her first field trip for kindergarten this month. We went to a farm. It was really hot and the 6 kids in my group complained that it was hot and stinky and that they were thirsty. We had a good time though, despite the fact that one of the little girls in here class passed out from dehydration. There was a firetruck and amulance. She was fine. Apparently her dad had her out in the hot sun all weekend with him outside and by Monday her body just wasn’t hydrated enough. Her parents were mad, but it seems to me that it was their fault…no one else’s kids passed out…and we were all HOT!!! Isabelle’s take on the trip:
“On the field trip I milked a cow. We looked at pigs. We feeded chickens. We pet a horse. We ate lunch there. We rided a buss there (to the farm). We saw cows on the way and goats and sheep. I think we saw some horses. It smelled stinky (at the farm).”
Isabelle’s take on the last Disneyland trip of our passes…
“We went on rides. We went in the whale’s mouth then we saw other stuff in there. There was princesses and other stuff. The second ride was a little scarry because it was shooting the robots and I was scarred. Me and Preston was both scared. do you know what? There was a lot of them. So you know what I did because I was scared? I was hiding right underneath where I was sitting! Beacuse I was scared because of big Zurg. That’s what i was scared of because he was bigger than he was. Do you know what? Ummm i saw sheep in there. We even saw sheep in the ride. They were robots too and I shooted those ones. I really did shoot them. There was a big sheep too and I even shooted it. I remember going on a ride. Oh yeah, I think I remember, oh I went on the one where we sit in those rocetships and there’s no door and you know what? There is seatbealts.”
Isabelle got a strange virus, well all 3 of them did, but her’s was the worst. She started out on a Saturday morning with a fever that stayed around 103.9 that then shot up to 104.9 Monday night. Took her into the dr’s as she had jhad a fever for 3 days and it had not broke and was so so high at 104.9…Matthew WebMd’d it and he was confident she had menegitis…she didn’t, but the fever lasted until Wednesday night. I kept her homw Thursday just to be sure and she was fine, but she missed 4 days of school that week. Here’s what she had to say about it:
“I was sick (this month). For 5 days I was sick. I went to school on Friday when I felt better.”
Isabelle had her last dance recital. She missed most of the practices since she was so sick so she was a little lost up there, but she had a good time. She likes to dance, she just doesn’t like the hairdoos required…
“I had to wear my bangs up, but I did not want um to have them up. I did a pretty dance.”

We had another project. We spent a week studing giraffes and making this poster. There was lots of writing and drawing and cutting and glueing…and that’s just what Isabelle did!!I think it came out cute.

Isabelle is doing well in school. She is learning about plants and farms and growing things. I think it’s been good for her as she is trying lots of new foods and finding she likes them. I love her teacher for that!! Our taxi (picture of it) ended up in the school office on display. She is helpful and has been showing initiative. We’ve been talking about that. She helps me out in the morning and has been doing things that need to get done without me asking her to do it. Like fill up Lily’s cup with water or get the cat food out. I’m pretty proud of her. She’s a good girl.

The Kindi500

Filed under: Firsts,IN HER OWN WORDS,Kindergarten,School — by The Mommy @ 7:50 am

Isabelle had a project for school where we had to make a car out of a box. Isabelle wanted to be a taxi and so that’s what we did. It was a couple of days of Matthew making the structure and covering it and days of me prepping so Isabelle could make the taxi. We finally got it all put together and it was ready for the Kindi500.

It was hot the day of the Kini500. Some of the drivers felt overheated (Isabelle). The sun was beating down and the laps were long and many. It was fun to watch all the different ideas and all the differnt cars. Some people went all out! I guess I didn’t take as many pics of other people’s cars as I did mine, rrr, I mean Isabelle’s, but you can see some of the others. It was really cute, but there were some minor accidents and parts that went rolling off and some fender bender’s for sure. Isabelle seemed to be one of those drivers who rides your rear bumper. She seemed to not realize how big she actually was in that car. She lost her sense of depth perception.
“I got a car. It is a taxi. It was a fun parade. I had to carry it. It didn’t roll. We had fun. It was really fun.”

I asked Isabelle if there was anything she wanted anyone who reads her blog to know. Here is what she said:
” I love Gramma. I like Gramma because she’s nice to me. ‘Cause when we ask for snacks she gives them to us. She always says ‘yes’.”
She was not Grandma specific and this could be either Grandma. In fact this describes both Grandmas to a T. Must be nice to get to say yes to everything!
Isabelle is doing well in school. She is reading very well. She can read books, though she doesn’t like to read them more than once. She says, “I already read that one. I know what it says.” She has pretty good reading comprehension as well as a good memory. She is getting super good at coloring in the lines and is very proud of her own progress.
She has of a late been asking me, “Can you believe I am going to be 6 soon? Because Dad cannot believe it, but I am going to be 6 soon.” He must of answered no to that question. She also has figured out that Lily is 4 years younger and tells us randomly things like, “When I am 10 Lily will be 6.”
